Influence in management

Companies in the healthcare industry are looking to diversify and retain top talent in this highly competitive marketplace. Those that are able to synchronize business mission statements with the talent of their people are bound to succeed. As companies look to fill their pipelines, it is critical that they hire the right people. The newly created Independent Delivery Networks will be implementing policy management through a specialized policy software to help them integrate systems and employees. In the late 1990′s and early 2000s their was this race to see who could hire the most, and not necessarily the best talent. Now we see that trend reversing, as the pool of talent has become more competitive.

With that the need to diversify not only the talent that is being hired but the customers and assoications that we engage in the healthcare industry. The Hispanic population is one of the largest growing segments in the market and have a tremendous unmet medical need. First, what is diversity? Diversity means the ways in which we are all different, not just age or skin color. It is not just a gender or race issues. It applies to different areas such as culture, language, age, etc. As Medical Care Act is put into place various clinics and hospitals will want to make sure that their diversity policy in place and up to date in order to ensure they are not violating federal laws in providing health care. There will be new hospital policies that need to be put in place in order to coordinate care across demographics and specialties. It remains to be seen how the Affiliated Care Organizations will become a sustainable health care delivery vehicle as hospitals and clinics will need to share information and care for a defined patient population. They must be able to communicate and understand each others protocols for continuation of care in order to assure that reimbursement criteria are met.
