I have been to my share of conferences as both an attendee and an exhibitor and can honestly say that I have seen a lot of different ways that these meetings are set up. I have noticed that the more manual process that an attendee has to go through the lower the general attendance is for both the participant and companies looking to exhibit. Some of the larger organizations use event management software to help establish their site and make the registration, hotel, and event planning a simple one stop shopping experience. With some of the planning software exhibitors can actually purchase space and pick their location which is a big plus to help drive traffic to your booth. In most cases the placement is done in some random order so no matter when and how you spend you are not always guaranteed a great spot. So my advice to meeting planners that are trying to do more on a tighter budget look at event management software solutions to not only save you time, but hopefully make it easier for your attendees to sign up and grow your attendance.
