My son is in his third year for little league baseball and so far he has only been on one team that did not do so well. Next year is when they start getting serious about baseball and you notice folks in the stands with a speed gun to check the speed of the kids fastball. I see these being used more and more younger age groups and our league actually has purchased one for the kids for winter ball when they are practicing inside. This is where the real money come into baseball where they are developing talent. The most important thing is that these kids love this game and to them it’s nothing more than a game. They just want the ball to come to them while playing the field and they can’t wait to take their swings at the plate. The final score isn’t as important to them as it is to the parents. I would just like to remind all the parents that are attending the little league baseball games, that they remember it’s just a game and the umpires are not people out there that do this for a living. Umpires make mistakes and when you keep that in mind, you will be less likely to holler or complain and draw any undue attention to your self.
