As a high school teacher, one thing that drives me crazy about my students is their lack of understanding of American politics. I do not care how they choose to vote as long as they are educated voters. I stress often to my students the need to understand how our government works and how each candidate fits into our system. I teach high school seniors, so most of my students are of voting age or soon will be. However, in talking to my students I realize how little they know about politics. I have started assigning as homework for the students to watch different news shows from different channels to give them varying perspective on what is happening in politics and in the world as a whole. I first found my television programming through directstarTV.com, and I watch the news on a nightly basis. Besides the fact that it is important for me to stay abreast on global events as a world history teacher, I feel it is simply important for people to be informed citizens. If I can pass that onto the students, then I will feel as though I have done my job.

Companies in the healthcare industry are looking to diversify and retain top talent in this highly competitive marketplace. The Hispanic population is one of the largest growing segments in the market and have a tremendous unmet medical need. First, what is diversity? Diversity means the ways in which we are all different, not just age or skin color. It is not just a gender or race issues. It applies to different areas such as culture, language, age, etc. As Medical Care Act is put into place various clinics and hospitals will want to make sure that their diversity policy in place and up to date in order to ensure they are not violating federal laws in providing health care. There will be new hospital policies that need to be put in place in order to coordinate care across demographics and specialties. It remains to be seen how the Affiliated Care Organizations will become a sustainable health care delivery vehicle as hospitals and clinics will need to share information and care for a defined patient population. They must be able to communicate and understand each others protocols for continuation of care in order to assure that reimbursement criteria are met.

Are you ready for Italia? Can you handle all the beauty and great food of the boot shaped nation? Italy is one of my most desired travel destinations for me and many other people. If I ever get the opportunity to go, I will have to plan at least a month long trip. You can’t see and feel all that Italy has to offer in just a week’s time. You can learn about the beautiful country itself, tourism, businesses and industries, the service agencies, and the agriculture that grows all the great food from Italy.

If I planned a trip to Italy, I would want to be aware of the weather forecasts and just what the conditions were like for the season I would be traveling in. So I could be sure to wear the proper clothes that would keep me warm or cool depending on the weather conditions. I don’t think it could get too cold or too hot for me to pass up an opportunity to travel to Italia. Whether you are looking to go over on business travel or pure vacation I would highly recommend doing your research to understand the best places to stay and eat. This will help you save time and money and allow you to enjoy the culture and the people.
I wouldn’t be leaving Italy with an empty stomach that’s for sure. So many great foods are in Italy. I think it’s pretty much pasta all the time there, and only the toppings on the pasta changes. Besides eating all the great foods, I think the art and culture would be fabulous to take in. All the museums that hold the sculptures, paintings and works of arts that we hear about so much about, are in Italy. The famous works of Leonardo and Michelangelo are just a couple of the famous artists that have art work displayed in Italy. There’s no doubt to get the full experience of Italy, or just to take in a large portion of it, you would need to plan at least a month in one of the best travel destinations for travelers in the world!

Building Vocabulary with WordGirl

WordGirl is one of my favorite children’s educational programming. I’m the mom of two elementary school children, and I love it when my kids watch this particular show. It airs on PBS and is both funny and educational. The main character of this cartoon is a girl named Becky Botsford, a fifth grade girl who is actually a superhero called WordGirl. She’s a girl possessing superhuman strength along with an impressive vocabulary. She fights the bad guys while simultaneously introducing vocabulary words to her young TV viewers. This type of program helps my kids build their vocabulary and increase their reading comprehension as well. We always watch our favorite children’s educational programming on Direct TV.

One of the other main characters in the cartoon series WordGirl includes the young chimp Captain Huggy Face. The faithful Captain Huggy Face is WordGirl’s sidekick, helping her to fight the dastardly villains that populate Becky Botsford’s world. When WordGirl is in disguise as Becky Botsford, her best friend is an artistic girl named Violet. Tim and Sally Botsford are WordGirl’s adoptive parents, two people completely unaware that their daughter is the celebrated superhero. The villains in the show are varied and colorful, and all strive to unleash their evil on the world.

Finding great deals on printer ink

With three kids at home that use the computer on a daily basis for school work and socializing we always run into a problem of shared resources.
