Comcast has just announced a new site in which they will offer consumers to be able to create and upload their videos, in which they could then be seen on their On Demand channels.Verizon is also looking at a deal where their subscribers to their cable offerings could pay a small fee to view the most YouTube favorites through their TV.

The interesting question that will be raised is how would you compensate someone for the homemade video of watchin ice melt, that for some reason becomes highly sought after in YouTube. This will add another dimension and complexity to the Consumer Generated Media, that continues to grow by leaps and bounds. So break out the camcorder and record those videos, and who knows you may find your self on cable TV.

With the explosion of the Social Networking sites like MySpace many are flocking to these site to create their online presence. What many are forgetting is that this open to the public and depending on what they put on their site could come back to haunt them later in life. There are employers and Universities that are now surfing MySpace and Facebook sites for students who are applying for internships and college admissions. This has killed the careers of some new college grads if they have material that the employer may find objectionable. College admissions may look at the entries on your journal online as to your commitment to getting your education. If your MySpace is filled with posts and pics of the latest kegger some admissions offices may not feel you are serious about your educations and deny your application. It remains to be seen what if any disclosure is needed by colleges and employers if they make decisions based on online sites like MySpace or Facebook. The morale of this story is to be careful of what you post online even if you think that only your friends are the only one reading your site. Get connected online and make some new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Finding great deals on printer ink

With three kids at home that use the computer on a daily basis for school work and socializing we always run into a problem of shared resources. We started out with 2 PCs and just recently found a great sale on a laptop. We also has a wired printer and with all the printing we knew we had to go wireless and find a cheap ink alternative. This has relieved some of the fighting about who has been on the longest and who gets on next. My oldest daughter has to check in with her friends via IM, and my two younger ones want to play on Club Penguin. As they started using the computer for research for their school work they needed to print off documents and there was only one printer that we had connected to one PC.

I read reviews on several models and the Lexmark X6675 and felt that the added features and easy setup was worth the little extra money. We also looked at the cost of the printer ink to make sure it was going to be affordable. We had no difficulty setting up the printer and scanner function on all three computers. By inserting the disc and following the instructions we had everyone connected and printing beautiful prints and documents within about 10 minutes. All the other features that it offers of color copying, scanning, and faxing will come in handy for those last minute home work projects. My wife even got to use it by scanning in some heart shaped designs that she had to help make invites for the kids school party. Basic study tips that I need to apply to my life

When it comes to studying, I’m kind of bad about following my own rules to make sure that I get all the studying done that I need to do. I’m kind of bad about just getting my assignments done and shrugging off studying until the day or two before an exam. But I can’t do that any more. I’m going to be in some challenging courses for my major this semester and I need to make sure that I’m studying before I have to so I’m not worrying about compensating for that at the end of the semester.

I thought that I would try and find some new studying tips and see if those would make any difference. While I was online doing that I came across some direct TV internet packages that sounded really great and after I showed it to my roommate, we signed up for one of them for our apartment.

I found some basic study tips that sometimes I forget about, like checking back over your notes to see if you missed anything that you should add and even just rereading over them frequently. I think that if I just use those, it would make my life so much easier.

Is the climate changing

Global Warming is certainly making a name for it self these days. I guess the politically correct way to say it is “Climate Change”; no matter how you say it or what you think of it; it’s impact is being felt around the world. We are seeing parts of the world being flooded by heavy rains; while other parts of the world continue to deal with severe drought conditions. In the states you can look to B-Dry basement systems to help protect your home from these potential water hazards. Fresh water is running low all across the world and soon there won’t be enough clean, fresh water for every man, woman, and child on this planet. We are facing a crisis with our environment here on Earth and there just isn’t enough being done right now to stop it.

It’s great that we have made strides in the right direction and we are slowing down climate change these days, but man is still on the losing side of things. The ice around the North Pole is melting away very fast and soon there won’t be any ice up there. The shipping industry and certain countries will love the fact they can travel through this part of the world when the ice does melt, but the oceans will be forced on land that is being used right now for people’s homes. Millions and millions of people will need a new place to call home, as their land will be under water in the coming years. This isn’t something that is going to take hundreds of years to happen, but the changes are happening today. We are seeing the effects of climate change and no one can truly predict, just where we might be a decade from now.

No boring Lectures

The internet was perhaps the best thing that ever happened to me. I was a two year college dropout, and had never finished my marketing degree. I didn’t have a dead-end job, but one could say that my job was not the best, especially for supporting my family. Then one day, my wife and I decided to install satellite internet, due to a deal that we got with our television provider. I decided that it might be time to finish up my college degree, before my credit eventually expired, and signed up for some online classes.

Taking online classes was an excellent decision. I have never been good at sitting through lectures, and with my online classes, I didn’t have to. In most cases, lectures were posted in video format online, and I was free to view them as I pleased. I had only a single class that had no lectures at all, and even that class I did pretty well, as I was essentially free to learn what I wanted. If I take classes in the future, they will definitely be online

How many times have you checked your twitter or facebook account to see those updates that Joe just stopped by the local mexican restaurant to have a Margaretta? What if by doing that he got paid? I am looking forward to visiting some of your local merchants with my new app loaded on my iPhone and gaining some extra spending cash.
