Creating a new course in blogs

The internet was perhaps the best thing that ever happened to me. I was a two year college dropout, and had never finished my marketing degree. I didn’t have a dead-end job, but one could say that my job was not the best, especially for supporting my family. Then one day, my wife and I decided to install satellite internet, due to a deal that we got with our television provider. I decided that it might be time to finish up my college degree, before my credit eventually expired, and signed up for some online classes.

Taking online classes was an excellent decision. I have never been good at sitting through lectures, and with my online classes, I didn’t have to. In most cases, lectures were posted in video format online, and I was free to view them as I pleased. I had only a single class that had no lectures at all, and even that class I did pretty well, as I was essentially free to learn what I wanted. If I take classes in the future, they will definitely be online

My wife was asking me for the Killers CD, because there were two songs that she wanted. I told her just to go to iTunes and spend the $2 and get the songs she wanted instead of wasting the extra dollars on a whole CD. Just these two examples show how much technology has changed the way we purchase items now and no longer are willing to spend extra when not needed.

Shoppers are being targeted more and more these days based on the geographic location and type of internet connection they are using. So if you are a male from the north using a high speed internet connection, you may receive a 10% discount offer when visiting Amazon.com, versus a shopper from the north receiving a $5 off coupon when it is detected they are using regular dial up. Advertisers are tailoring their home pages based on how the user got to their site. So what is your idea of going out on the town for a nice dinner? What type of food do you like, when you are going to pay 50 or 100 dollars for a meal? It can be fun to dress up all nice and go out and enjoy an expensive meal every once in while.  I think I would have to lean toward the seafood and I really like fresh fish. It’s hard to find fresh grouper, amberjack, or mahi mahi that’s been cooked to perfection. When you do find these fine fishes cooked right, it seems you have to pay a pretty penny for it too. I like my steaks too, but the 10 dollar steaks taste as good as the 50 dollar steaks to me. So I can manage at the average steak house for my steaks, but the seafood I find the more you pay, the better it usually is.

So what’s the most you ever paid for a meal? I took my prom date years ago to a nice place and for my meal and her meal, along with an appetizer, our total bill came out to around $70. I think it was close to $30 each for what we ate and the appetizer was like 10 bucks. I believe the bill was in the low 70’s and I left 80 for the food and tip. That is really the highest meal I think I have ever ate. I have ate at several places where my individual bill would run around $30, but I believe I have missed the 50 and 100 dollar plates that I hear some restaurants serving. School is back in and that means that Thanksgiving and Christmas are just a few short months away. With that in mind it always seems that the shopping season keeps getting shorter and maybe this is due to having three kids who are always adding to their wish lists.
