New Jersey shore by leaving it on a beach towel while we were playing in the ocean. We were on vacation so I could not just run down to the local jewelry store and find a replacement. It is hard to believe that February is here and Spring is just a month away. This winter has been hard on a lot of folks with record snowfalls and freezing temperatures in many parts of the country. Even the “Sunshine State” saw snow and below freezing temperatures for the first time in over 20 years. With such a harsh winter many experts are predicting a warmer than usual Spring and Summer which is fine by me. I am sure all the merchants buying wholesale sunglasses are chomping at the bit to start seeing the sun and those hotter temperatures because it can only mean better sales for them and their merchants. It will be interesting to see what fashion in sunglasses is all the rage this year because the over sized sunglasses are just not that appealing to me.
Coming from the great state of Texas I was around rodeos and even participated in some in my childhood years. I had several uncles who were on the Bull riding circuit and this was before they were wearing the protective vests and helmets. They even participated in the Houston rodeo. I still have an aunt who raises cutting horses for barrel racing that takes place at the rodeo. There are hundreds of events that take place through out the country where local and national ranked cowboys earn money in order to qualify for the year end National Finals Rodeo.
I would love to attend the 2010 NFR World Champions to see the culmination of the year long work that these cowboys have to endure to get to this point. So what is your idea of going out on the town for a nice dinner? What type of food do you like, when you are going to pay 50 or 100 dollars for a meal? It can be fun to dress up all nice and go out and enjoy an expensive meal every once in while. I think I would have to lean toward the seafood and I really like fresh fish. It’s hard to find fresh grouper, amberjack, or mahi mahi that’s been cooked to perfection. When you do find these fine fishes cooked right, it seems you have to pay a pretty penny for it too. I like my steaks too, but the 10 dollar steaks taste as good as the 50 dollar steaks to me. So I can manage at the average steak house for my steaks, but the seafood I find the more you pay, the better it usually is.
So what’s the most you ever paid for a meal? I took my prom date years ago to a nice place and for my meal and her meal, along with an appetizer, our total bill came out to around $70. I think it was close to $30 each for what we ate and the appetizer was like 10 bucks. I believe the bill was in the low 70’s and I left 80 for the food and tip. That is really the highest meal I think I have ever ate. I have ate at several places where my individual bill would run around $30, but I believe I have missed the 50 and 100 dollar plates that I hear some restaurants serving. In our house we have numerous clocks throughout the house and all of them are in some of digital format. I have always loved the style and sound of grandfather clock and have thought about purchasing one for our front formal living area. At least I wish there was a such thing as “My Club” as me being the owner of it. I always wanted to have a club for entertainment. I might still do it one day, but nothing is in the serious planning stages right now. I would mainly want to have pool tables in my club. So I really would be looking to have a pool hall and just building up some things around that theme. It would be nice to have a stage with a good sound system for local bands could have a place to play and entertain my customers at the same time. I think I would add a lot of televisions, maybe some poker tables, and I think adding some video games in too, along with a lot of pool tables. I would even have PCs available for those that wanted to play online and you could challenge your friends on Facebook. You could get facebook poker chips through your account and then we would have a local prize for the winner. That would be my idea of a great club. Then I could tweak it more down the road and try to cater it to my customer’s wants more. I still might have a club sometime in the future, but for right now, it just remains for the future!
